Gatwick Airport

Baby changing

There are numerous baby changing facilities available at the check-in areas, en-route to the boarding gates, in the departure lounge and arrivals lounge. These equipped baby facilities have areas for feeding and changing babies and are indicated by the bottle sign or baby care symbol. Fold down tables are also provided in some of the male and female toilets.

Child friendly bars and restaurants

There are a good number of restaurants and bars at Gatwick with child friendly seating / high chairs and children’s menus.

Garfunkel’s, in particular, has a full children’s menu plus an activity pack will be given to your children when eating there.

Baby and child essentials

There is a Boots at Gatwick Airport that stocks all the last minute essentials when flying with children, like nappies, formula milk and baby wipes. There are, of course, all the other items that you’d expect from Boots if you’ve forgotten anything or just need to top up. Once in the departure lounge, you can purchase any additional liquids on top of the 100ml allowance that you may need for the flight.

Outlets such as WH Smith are available within both Airport Terminals selling magazines, books, comics and puzzles to keep children entertained whilst waiting to board in the departure lounge, and for in the air.

Play areas

Soft children’s play areas are available after security controls on the lower levels of the North and South’s International departure lounges.

These children’s play areas – for ages 2 – 6 – have baby landings soft play facilities and Fingerbox play tables (interactive and educational games consoles).
However, play areas are unsupervised so all parents and guardians are responsible for the safety and security of their children.

Before the security controls, another unsupervised children’s soft play area is available in the Gatwick Village shopping area on the 1st floor of the South Terminal.

Gatwick also boasts great views of the runway and planes from both the North and South Terminals departure lounges, which is an educational and exciting way to keep your children amused whilst waiting to fly.
